Sustainable Fulfilment

At PackPro, we have embraced sustainable fulfilment as a core principle in its operations. Here’s how PackPro achieves sustainability across its operations:

sustainable fulfilment
sustainable fulfilment - Felixstowe port

Strategic Location: Felixstowe Port

On way we practice sustainable fulfilment is our strategic position of PackPro’s warehouse. Located in Colchester near Felixstowe port, we minimise transportation-related carbon emissions. By reducing the distance commodities must travel from port to warehouse, we considerably reduce fuel usage and greenhouse gas emissions.

Sustainable Fulfilment: Waste Management

Another way Packpro Practices sustainable fulfilment is through extensive waste management techniques in its warehouse. All containers at the facility are assigned to different wastes, ensuring efficient sorting. Furthermore, rather than sending waste to landfills, PackPro works with recycling companies to divert as much waste as possible from landfill sites. This commitment to waste reduction helps to reduce the company’s environmental footprint.

Sustainable Fulfilment: Cardboard Reycling

Given the overwhelming majority of cardboard packaging in the logistics business, PackPro prioritises cardboard recycling. All cardboard used in the warehouse is collected and transferred to our local recycling facility – CSH Environemntal. This is only a short 5 minuite drive away from our warehouse, reducing CO2 Emissions when we need to transfer waste.

PackPro minimises the necessity for new cardboard production while also saving vital resources.

Sustainable Fulfilment: Energy Efficiency

PackPro practices enegry efficient procedures during warehouse operations. By using an energy efficient approach, we minimise our environmental footprint while also maximising productivity. Some ways we do this is by:

  • Using forklifts that use energy-saving  features. This reduces fuel consumption and emissions.
  • Use of LED lighting: This reduces electricity usage and costs.
  • Motion Sensors: Some of our lights are operated via motion sensors to control lighting and HVAC systems, ensuring that energy is only being used when necessary.

clients go green

Encouraging Our Clients To Go Green

At PackPro, we’re committed to sustainable fulfilment and encourage our clients to join us in being eco-friendly. For instance, we recommend using electronic packing slips and return slips to reduce paper waste. It’s a small step that has a positive impact on the environment, and we’re here to support our clients every step of the way in their journey towards greener practices.

Current Clients that Go Green

Clients who are environmentally conscious help to reinforce PackPro’s commitment to sustainability. For example, one of our clients called 3StyleScooters, a company that manufactures kids scooters, uses a particually creative way to be more ecologicaly friendly. Instead of discarding unwanted scooters or scooters that do not meet their demands, 3style donates them to African communities in need. They did this by partnering up with Re-cycle, a charity that donates bikes to communities in Africa for easier mobility.

By donating theses scooters, it not only keeps functional scooters out of landfill sites, but it also helps to improve social welfare by offering mobility options in neglected areas.
